Affordable Housing

Verona's affordable housing's objective is to offer and provide qualified, low and moderate-income families, individuals, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities with opportunities for obtaining affordable housing while at the same time promoting economic self-sufficiency for families and individuals, continued independent living for senior citizens, and reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities.

Affordable housing is considered affordable to those with a median household income or below as rated by the national government or local governments.

Rehabilitation Program

Homeowner rehabilitation assistance programs provide funds to income-eligible homeowners to assist with the repair, rehabilitation, or reconstruction of their homes. These programs can help prevent the displacement of low-income households who otherwise may struggle to keep their home in livable conditions. Housing rehabilitation funds may be used only for repairs or system replacements necessary to bring a substandard unit into compliance with municipal health, safety and building codes, applicable code violations, as well as any other cosmetic work that is reasonable and deemed necessary or is related to the necessary repairs. This program does not use taxpayer money but comes from development fees.
