Before presenting to the council, the local pickleball community and the Recreation Advisory Committee reviewed and endorsed the initial plans, paving the way for this project's advancement. Furthermore, $75,000 in grants has been secured to support this project.
The current courts located at the upper level of the Verona Pool Parking lot are in need of substantial repairs and do not meet the demands of regulation play. Construction for the new pickleball courts is scheduled to begin this Fall/Winter for four new pickleball courts and a tennis court that can be converted to a pickleball court if necessary. Expected completion date for the four pickleball courts and one tennis court is Spring/Summer '25.
Upgrades will include new fencing, improved drainage, and regulation playing surfaces, all designed to be ADA accessible. The project will also feature new landscaping enhancements. The Verona Recreation Department provides pickleball programs year-round, indoor or outdoor depending on the season, for grades 3-6 and adults. Start working on your pickleball skills now by checking out what programs are available via the
