During Monday’s Township Council Meeting (February 3, 2025) a pause was taken in the agenda to honor Joseph D’Arco, Verona’s Township Manager, with two proclamations marking the culmination of an impressive 57-year career in public and municipal service. As he retires after his three-year term with the Township of Verona, D’Arco leaves behind a legacy of visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to community service.
The first proclamation came from the State of New Jersey, presented by Senator Kristin Corrado and Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips. This honor recognized D’Arco’s extensive service to the state and his unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of its residents. As a veteran himself, D’Arco has been a steadfast advocate for veterans’ programs and resources, ensuring that those who have served the country receive the support and recognition they deserve. His efforts in championing veterans’ causes have left an indelible mark on the community and underscored his dedication to public service.
The second proclamation was presented by Mayor Tamburro on behalf of the Township of Verona. Under his stewardship, the township witnessed the completion and initiation of numerous projects across various sectors, including recreation, emergency management, water utilities, and public works.
